In this keynote, Catherine D’Ignazio (MIT) examines how feminist approaches to data and design challenge dominant AI paradigms based on quantification, neutrality, and prediction. Drawing on Counting Feminicide: Data Feminism in Action and the project Data Against Feminicide, the talk highlights how situated knowledge, lived experience, and accountability can reshape core AI practices such as data collection, categorization, and evaluation, offering concrete alternatives to prevailing socio-technical logics.
