PhD Graduation Day 2025: la Statale celebra i nuovi dottori di ricerca

Si è tenuta oggi, 22 ottobre, in Aula Magna la cerimonia dedicata agli oltre 350 nuovi dottori e dottoresse di ricerca dell’Università degli Studi di Milano che hanno completato il loro percorso formativo nell'anno accademico 2024-2025.

Il Graduation Day si è aperto con i saluti della rettrice Marina Brambilla, seguiti dagli interventi di Monica DiLuca, prorettrice alla Ricerca e al Trasferimento tecnologico, e di Luciano Pinotti, delegato per i programmi di Dottorato di ricerca. Ha poi preso la parola Omar Ben Mariem, rappresentante dei dottorandi.

Ospite d’onore il keynote speaker David Bogle, professore emerito di Chemical Engineering presso l’University College London, già pro-vice-provost della Doctoral School e chair del gruppo di politiche dottorali della League of European Research Universities (LERU). Membro della Royal Academy of Engineering, nel 2023 ha ricevuto la Villermaux Medal della European Federation of Chemical Engineers.

"Today, we gather to celebrate a remarkable achievement: the culmination of years of dedication, hard work, and intellectual curiosity - ha detto la rettrice Marina Brambilla nel suo intervento, durante la cerimonia, tenutasi in inglese -. Earning a PhD is no small feat. It represents not only mastery of a field but also the perseverance and creativity required to push the boundaries of knowledge".

"The world  awaits your ideas, your leadership, and your contributions. On behalf of the University, I congratulate each of you on this extraordinary accomplishment. You have earned this moment—celebrate it, and go forth to make a difference", ha aggiunto la rettrice.

"Receiving your degree from our University - ha detto la prorettrice alla Ricerca, Monica DiLuca - is a recognition of your academic excellence and your commitment to the fundamental mission of the University: to pursue truth and public service. It is also a recognition of your courage to explore, to challenge assumptions, and to seek new understanding". "Remember that the mission of the University is not only to advance knowledge, but also to nurture the values that make knowledge meaningful and transformative. These values include curiosity, freedom, and knowledge. They are the foundation of our academic community, and they are essential to the pursuit of truth", ha ricordato la prorettrice ai dottorandi in Aula Magna.

L’evento si è chiuso con la consegna dei diplomi per la conclusione del 37° ciclo, insieme ai colleghi del 36° ciclo del dottorato in Medicina dei sistemi, di durata quadriennale.
