Pierpaolo Piccioli met the students of the course “Made-In-Italy Culture in Fashion and Design”
On 16 June, Maison Valentino presented its new menswear collection, Valentino The Narratives, in the central courtyard of the historical headquarters of the University of Milan.
Creative Director Pierpaolo Piccioli decided to unveil his collection during ordinary academic activities, which will be neither limited nor interrupted. His aim is to open a conversation between students, the University staff and the city. In Maison Valentino’s vision, this show is “a nod to Milan, to the youth who make it vibrate with vision, and to the education that enriches them”.
The Maison has decided to support students with a donation to the University, allocated to the Diritto allo studio (Education Incentive Programme) for the next academic year.
At the end of the show, Pierpaolo Piccioli met the students of the course “Made-In-Italy Culture in Fashion and Design”, which is taught by Emanuela Scarpellini, professor of Contemporary History at the University of Milan. The dialogue focused on art and creativity and on the role of young generations in such a complex industry as fashion, with its intertwined economic, political and market dynamics.
